Tips on getting a Good Night’s Sleep

1. Go to bed at the same time every night.

2. Make sure you are cosy – this means not too hot or cold.

3. The room should be silent – use headphones if need be. If silence unnerves you listen

to relaxing music or a sleep meditation.

4. The room should be very dark – use an eye mask if necessary.

5. Do not lie awake at night in bed fretting. Get up and do something relaxing like read or

meditate. Do not turn on any electronics.

6. Bed is for sleeping not electronics.

7. Have a protein snack before bed.

8. Drink a relaxing tea like chamomile or lemon balm.

9. Abstain from caffeine, alcohol or cigarettes.

10. Do NOT count sheep – it has been known to stimulate the brain.

11. Drink warm milk or over 75% dark chocolate cocoa.

12. Have a warm bath before bed. Can add essential oils such as Lavender.

13. Recite peaceful sleep affirmations.

14. Give yourself a hug goodnight.

15. Before you sleep write in your journal, so all of your troubling thoughts are out of your

head.

16. If you do use electronics at night use blue light blocking glasses.
